Australia.

I was going over a timeline on the history of modern Australia this morning and read an interesting little feature about the establishment of Sydney.
At the time the British were setting up the port there, they were visited by the French on the date 24/01/1788.

French ships… at Port Jackson.

Hmmm, I wonder how that one felt, sitting onboard the Boussole or the Astrolabe and looking on while the Union Jack was being flown onshore.

I’ll have to research why these ships were there somemore to ascertain what the French intentions were and see why they were there.

Should be interesting.
